OUR STORY - Team Van Isle Veda

Our family is participating in this year's walk to raise funds for the CDSS and their forthcoming reading program. Literacy is a gateway for gaining employment, volunteer, and educational opportunities for persons with Down syndrome, all of which can contribute to their ability to lead richer lives. Literacy opens doors for all, but it is not always a fast or linear path to learn to read when you have a cognitive disability and perhaps other challenges on top of that. We can't wait to see the new resources that will be available for people with Ds and those who support them. We will be walking with our darling 8 year-old Veda Hazel who continually inspires us to laugh, love, and be better people. Please consider supporting this cause in whatever way you're comfortable and able to.
