In November of 2018, my life changed in a way I never expected. I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)—a rare and notoriously painful neurological condition often called “the suicide disease” because of how relentless and misunderstood it is. Overnight, simple things like standing, walking, or even being touched became excruciating. I went from being active and independent to navigating a world shaped by chronic pain.
CRPS tried to take so much from me—my mobility, my peace, and pieces of the life I once knew. But it never took my will.
Over the past several years, I’ve fought every day to adapt, to stay hopeful, and to keep moving forward. And this year marks a milestone I never thought would be possible in my darkest moments.
Thanks to two neuro‑spinal implants, I am slowly, steadily getting my life back. These devices have given me something I had almost lost: the ability to move without overwhelming pain, even if just a little at a time.
And that brings me to why I’m here.
This year, my personal goal is to WALK one full mile.
It might not seem like much to many people — but to me, it represents years of courage, determination, and healing. It represents every setback I’ve pushed through and every moment I refused to give up.
I’m walking to raise awareness for CRPS.
I’m walking for myself and for the millions who fight this invisible battle every day.
I’m walking to show that hope is never out of reach — even when the road feels impossibly long.
