Why i want to participate in the walk for kids 

Right now, me and my family are all living at the Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City because of my baby brother. Hes in the hospital, and our family has been going through one of the toughest times of our lives. But even in the middle of all the worry and stress, this place has been a light for us.

Before coming here, I didnt fully understand what Ronald McDonald really meant. Now i do. It means a hot meal when you're too tired to cook. It means a safe, comfortable place to lay your head when your heart is breaking. it means kindness from people who dont even know you, but care anyway. It means being close to the person you love most-especially when they need you the most.

Thats why i want to walk.

I want to walk for families like mine. For every brother sister mom and dad trying to stay for their loved one. I want to walk for my baby brother- to show him that we're still standing, still fighting, and still full of hope. I want people to know that Ronald McDonald House is more than a place to stay. Its a place that holds you up when you feel like you're falling apart.

The walk for kids isnt just a fundraiser to me. Its a thank you. Its a way give back. Its my way of saying thank you. Its a way to give back. Its my way of saying ''you helped us. Now i want to help someone else'' 

So when i walk, Ill be walking with my whole heart-for my family, for my brother, and for every family that needs a little hope right now.  -Larrisa Wally
