Captain CUBICS

Hello everyone and thank you for coming to Captain CUBICS fundraising page for NuPath's Walk the Walk 2015.  I feel honored and privileged everyday to be at the service of the incredible men and women that make up our beloved One NuPath.

Many of you may have joined us back in October at NuPath's 1st Annual Meeting.  I went to bed that night with the feeling that we are on the verge of extraordinary things and that feeling has not left.

That October evening you heard about the concept of One NuPath, a philosophical and purposeful recommitment to our organizational values and proud mission of

…providing people with disabilities the support needed to live, work, learn, grow and participate to their fullest potential in their communities.

The six core principles that capture what One NuPath is really all about.

  • Community
    • We are committed to the importance of community, maximum inclusion and social responsibility. Our communities will be made richer by our very presence while the people we support discover both purpose and a sense of belonging. We will promote a community where separate is not equal and where segregated environments are a thing of the past.
  • Unity
    • We believe that we are all essential elements in a composition and that we belong together. We believe that when we each have a clear understanding of our relationship to one another and the vision we all share, the composition is unified.  We are committed to uniting our many voices, talents and passions as one cohesive, deliberate force.
  • Belonging
    • We understand that we are much greater than the sum of our parts and that together there is nothing that we cannot achieve.  We are committed to sharing the journey of life as One NuPath, celebrating both life’s peaks and valleys and placing great value on the power of belonging.

  • Innovation
    • We are committed to exploring every new idea and innovation that will move us toward our goals.  We are committed to asking questions, making mistakes, taking risks and to being willing to leave the comforts of past practice behind.
  • Collaboration
    • We are committed to promoting, encouraging and facilitating collaboration between our programs, staff and stakeholders.  We will align organizational support systems to promote ownership.  We will foster personal accountability.
  • Sharing
    • We are committed to sharing ideas, solutions, thoughts and best practice, both internally and externally.  We will leverage our collective intellectual capital and foster an organizational “sharing economy that enhances our combined knowledge, skill and experience

I am most fortunate to see examples of these principles in action every single day.

We are on the verge of extraodrinary things and together we can get there.  Thank you for your support.
