Hunger Solutions Minnesota

Hunger Solutions Minnesota works to end hunger in our state. We take action to assure food security for all Minnesotans by supporting programs and agencies that provide food to those in need, advancing sound public policy, building grassroots advocacy, and informing and educating critical stakeholders about the status of hunger in Minnesota.

Loaves and Fishes

Loaves & Fishes is a nonprofit organization serving free, healthy meals to Minnesotans where the need is greatest. We serve urban, suburban, and rural communities through a variety of meal programs supported by creative food sourcing and food rescue efforts. Our meal program began 40 years ago with one dining site each in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Now, we serve over 4,000,000 meals at over 100 outlets in 15 counties annually. Loaves & Fishes is not a religious organization; we serve without regard to religious perspective and do not engage in activities that promote any particular religious cause.

The Food Group

For more than 40 years The Food Group has worked to provide good foods to those who need it most in our community. We focus on local food access, equity, and nutrition issues related to food and hunger in more than 32 counties in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The Food Group works on both ends of the food system from production to distribution. Working towards building a better local food system for all, we focus on breaking down barriers to growing good food locally and breaking down barriers to getting good food to those who need it most.

Second Harvest Heartland

At Second Harvest Heartland, we work to end hunger through partnerships. As one of the largest, most efficient, and most innovative hunger relief organizations in the nation, we leverage our unique position in the emergency food chain to make an impact. In close partnership with a network of 360 food shelves and nearly 1,000 partner programs, we support those in our region facing hunger today.

Neighbors, Inc.

Neighbors has been serving our community for 50 years. Founded by volunteers, Neighbors has grown from a small food pantry in a storage closet to serving 1,000 families a month with food resources through our food shelf and Neighbors Express satellite locations. The original founding principle of “neighbors helping neighbors” is as strong today as it was 50 years ago.
