Why We Walk
Join us on Wednesday, October 8, for this year’s Walk a Mile in Their Shoes (WAM), hosted by the Thrive Survivor Support Center. Our 11th annual walk invites the community to Walk with Us not just for a mile, but in solidarity, in compassion, and in commitment to a safer, more just world for all.
Each year, we walk to raise awareness of domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence in Merrimack County. This year, we walk with even more purpose. At a time when critical funding is at risk and essential services are stretched thin, your support means more than ever. Survivors in our community are facing growing barriers to safety and justice and we need your voice, your presence, and your steps.
Walk with Us is a chance to stand up and speak out without saying a word. Every footstep sends a message: that survivors are seen, heard, and never alone.
Make a Difference
Every dollar raised from WAM goes directly to support Thrive’s life-saving programs and services. Your participation ensures that someone in crisis can find a safe place to turn, 24/7.
What About the Shoes?
From high heels to hiking boots, flip flops to flats—WAM is all about showing up however you can. Whether you're walking in memory, in celebration, or in solidarity, we welcome your style and your spirit.
Thank you for walking with us in this pivotal moment. Together, we’ll go farther than a mile and create lasting change for survivors across our community.
