If you have the privilege of knowing Calvin, you know he may not use words to speak, but he has a LOT to say. He flicks his little hands when he’s happy, squeals like a pterodactyl when he’s excited, and could listen to us read Goodnight Moon a hundred times without getting bored. Calvin is obsessed with Ms. Rachel, lights up at music and movement, and gives the very best cuddles.

Why We Joined the Warrior Challenge

Immediately after learning of our son Calvin’s SCN2A diagnosis, we did research and found the FamilieSCN2A Foundation. What first felt like an isolating diagnosis became an opportunity to connect with a unique community advocating for people living with SCN2A Related Disorders. As many of you know, Calvin’s journey has been one of both hardship and strength, and it has taken a village to get to where we are today. Calvin is our brightest light, and events like this give us hope to finding a cure.

This year, Calvin’s Clan has set a team fundraising goal of $2,024, honoring the year of his diagnosis, and I’m personally aiming for $549—one dollar for each day since that moment.
