We are taking part in the annual Warrior Challenge—FamilieSCN2A Foundation's largest community fundraising and awareness event. This event helps to raise critical funds for SCN2A research, advocacy, and family support. SCN2A-related disorders are rare, devastating, and deeply underfunded. Families fight every single day and the Warrior Challenge is how we rally around them. Every mile moved, every dollar raised, and every voice shared brings us closer to breakthroughs, support, and hope. Our sweet girl Erin was diagnosed with SCN2A in fall of 2023 after our medical team began to realize her global neurodevelopmental delays were more than just the result of being born as a premature twin. She is such a bright little girl who works very hard every day to overcome many challenges; including SCN2A Loss of Function variant, ASD, ADHD, cortical vision impairment, hypotonia, gross and fine motor delays, language processing disorders, and several other SRDs. We are fortunate that she has so many skills that many of the SCN2A warriors in our community do not share. Despite that, this little girl still needs a lot of support from her family and therapists. We have been blessed to have the FamilieSCN2A Foundation to walk us through what Erin's diagnoses meant for us, what to do next, help us navigate specialists in the medical community, give us information to bring to our medical team, connect us with other families, and so much more. We are so appreciative of their help, particularly in our scary moments of initial diagnosis.
