Hello everyone, and thanks for stopping by my page! For those who don’t know me, I’m a combat veteran who served in the Army. My time in the service shaped much of who I am today, but like many veterans, the transition back to civilian life comes with its own set of challenges. Finding a new "mission" and a supportive community is vital for long-term health and success. Participating in the We Defy Memorial Day Ruck and Roll is deeply personal for me because it combines two things that have been instrumental in my own journey: the discipline of the military mindset and the transformative power of Jiu Jitsu. Why: • Empowering Veterans: The We Defy Foundation does incredible work providing combat veterans with scholarships to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It’s more than just a sport; it’s a way to find focus, relieve stress, and build a new brotherhood or sisterhood on the mats. • Mental & Physical Health: Jiu Jitsu demands mental toughness and physical resilience. This event highlights the importance of staying active and connected to help combat the isolation that many veterans face. • Giving Back: Having experienced the benefits of these communities firsthand, I want to ensure other veterans have the same opportunity to find their footing and thrive through martial arts. Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting these scholarships and changing lives.
