I chose the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism as my charity for the 2027 runDisney Marathon Weekend because its mission deeply aligns with both my professional and personal experiences. As a middle school physical education teacher for the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with many students on the autism spectrum, each with unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives. I have seen firsthand the importance of inclusive programs, supportive resources, and opportunities that allow these students to thrive both in and out of the classroom. The foundation’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families resonates strongly with me, and I am honored to support a cause that reflects the impact these incredible students have had on my life and career.
