Hello to all my friends and family!
I want to let you know a little about the Foundation For Allen Schools and why it is important to me. I started serving on the Board of Direcotrs for the Foundation in 2008 and enjoyed the work and mission so much I am now in my second 6 year term. I've been serving as the Board President the past two years. I decided to join the board years ago when I learned about the good they do for the students and teachers of Allen ISD.
Both of my children (Morgan & Kyle) spent thier Kindergarten - 12th grade years here in Allen and I have been involved since the beginning in groups including: PTA, Project Kids, and the Tallenette and Band booster clubs but found none more satisfying than Foundation For Allen Schools. I simply love seeing all the innovative ideas that teachers come up with for kids through the grant program and how truly excited and grateful they are when they learn they have been awarded a grant! I've also been amazed and touched by the stories that I learn about our students through the scholarship program that we provide to graduating seniors.
The Foundation is facing, like so many non-profits and business, a strange and challenging year due to Covid. We are unable to have our largest and most successful fund rasing events and yet still want to provide the classroom grants and scholarships we've been providing for close to 25 years. We have set a community challenge of raising $100,000 by October 5th to help offset our Fall gala and raise the funds needed to continue our grant and scholarship programs.
Would you help me meet my goal of $1,800? Gifts of any size make all the difference. Here in Allen we are one community working to make tomorrow better. I believe in our community, I believe in our Eagles!
