Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and supporters, we’ve already raised enough to help fund a brand-new well in rural Uganda — bringing clean, safe water to more than 100 households. Seeing the impact this has already made has inspired me to dream even bigger.
My updated goal is now $15,000. A restored well costs about $5,000, while $10,000 can build a brand-new well serving an entire village. With additional support — and hopefully company matching donations — we hope to either restore another broken well or raise enough to build a second new well and expand access to clean water for even more families. Every dollar donated goes directly toward building, restoring, or maintaining wells and providing safe access to clean water.
I chose this cause after learning about Wells of Life at a Model UN conference. Without clean water, families face preventable diseases, children miss school, and women and girls often walk for hours each day just to collect water. Each year, about 3.5 million people — most of them children — die from water-related illnesses. I believe everyone deserves safe access to clean water.
As a high school student in the Academy of Global Studies, I’m learning how local action can create real global change — and I want to do my part in making that happen. Thank you for supporting this mission and helping bring clean water and hope to more communities.
