The Humane Society of Napa County & SPCA, Inc. (“Napa Humane”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a laser focus: prevention of needless suffering and homelessness for our community’s companion animals. Unlike many humane societies, we don’t run a shelter or rescue program—instead, we target the root causes of animal suffering to achieve far greater, exponential impacts. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. 

Napa Humane is strategic, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality, prevention-focused programs and services and operates the only low-cost spay/neuter clinic in Napa County (and neighboring Solano and Lake Counties).  In addition to providing affordable microchipping, community and school-based humane education, Napa Humane also provides, free pet wellness clinics, and a non-emergency behavioral help-line to help keep all our pets healthy, safe and loved. We flex and adapt our programs to the needs of our community, without ever losing sight of our goal: PREVENTION of needless animal suffering.
