I love Alpha for what they do.
Diapers, wipes, clothing, and formula, free pregnancy tests and ultrasounds, and support groups, mentoring appointments, and classes. Women come to Alpha for these things every day, and these appointments and material goods are changing people's lives.
I love Alpha even more for HOW they do all this.
They do it all with love. Acceptance. Grace. The love of God permeates what Alpha does. You can feel it when you walk through the doors. Women discover that they matter, that they are loved, and that they are not alone in whatever circumstances they face.
Why me?
When both of my daughters were in school,I began looking for something to do. Something to get involved in. I was fortunate to find Alpha and have the opportunity to volunteer as a teacher for one of their Single Mom Support Groups. This was a perfect way for me to use my teaching background. But I was surprised to discover that God was teaching me more than I was teaching. I loved the women in the group, and the staff was great. I am now blessed to be a member of the staff as the Single Mom Support Group Coordinator.
I believe in Jesus, I believe that we are called to love others in Jesus' name, and I believe that Alpha shows this love to women and families in amazing ways.
