Sunday Februrary 11th Event Details
Team Members:
By 8:30am, meet us by the Boston Common Tennis Courts. Christine Song will be holding a large blue Tufts sign. We will head together to the Winter Walk tent to pick up our free hats.
Posner group: Please meet in front of the MedEd building at 8:10am to head to the event with Jena Yun.
Event Schedule
8:30am - Registration opens at the Winter Walk tent on Boston Common. Grab some coffee, pick up your gear (a hat with the Winter Walk logo), and meet partner organizations as they share information from their tables and outreach vans.
9:00am - Community presentation begins at the main stage. A welcome from special guests and stories of experiencing homelessness, followed by setting off on our 2 mile walk. Participants will follow the people in neon winter walk hats to help show the way.
9:25am - The walk begins! Look out for people in neon hats to help show the way
10:00am - Walkers return to the Common, visit the tent to get breakfast, enjoy live music at the stage, and meet partners at their info tables and outreach vans.
11:00am - The Winter Walk concludes, thank you for joining!
The remote event invites participants to walk in the week prior to our live event, all the way up to the 12th. We want you to send us pictures of your walks to @winterwalk_tufts so that we can share them.
Bake sale update:
From Feb 5th to Feb 9th, students at Tufts University School of Medicine, Dentistry, MPH, Masters of Biomedical Sciences Bake Sale raised $970.76, exceeding way past our goals.
We dedicate our raised funds to St. Francis House in the memory of Dr. Andrew Bohm. Professor Bohm was a beloved member of Tufts University School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Biomedical Studies. We remember his teaching, research, guidance, and service to the community at Tufts University.
Thank you to all those who baked, vounteered, and donated! Major thanks to Team MBS, in particular Dr. Kubilus for the support and funds in making the bake sale possible, the MBS E-board in particular Paul and Emily with help in organizing logistics as well as Katrina for rallying the dental students. We thank the MBS, MPH, and especially Dental students for volunteering their time on such short notice. We appreciate you!
