I'm participating in the 2022 Winter Walk becasue I believe ending homelessness is within our reach. Ending homelessness is about helping the people who need it most. It's about helping the single mother who finds herself and her children on the streets because the menial jobs that she works just don't pay enough to keep a roof over their heads and put food on the table. It's about helping the survivor of domestic violence find a safe place to stay and learn new job skills while they try to piece their life back together. It's about helping the mentally ill who find themselves on the streets with no family to turn to get the medical help they need and a warm place to sleep. And, it's about helping those who are fighting the illness called addiction, find a safe place to sleep while they get the treatment needed to win their battle. Ending homelessness isn't a handout, it's lending a helping hand to our brothers and sisters who are less fortunate than us.
