Ryder Women's Leadership helps "Raise the Roof" with Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity works tirelessly all year, helping transform lives by building safe, quality, and affordable homes, in partnership with families in need. Each year HFH hosts the annual "Women Build" program which invites women and men to devote their time to help families build strength, stability and independence through housing, as well as bring awareness to the homeownership challenges faced by women.
For the third year in a row, the Ryder Women's Leadership Forum is a proud participant in this program. With the help of donations from industry partners and individuals, Ryder and Habitat are able to continue the mission of bringing people together to build homes, in order to make a profound difference for families.
On a to-be-determined date in April, the Ryder Women's Leadership team will build on the job site in support of Jewel, a single mom. She is grateful and appreciative of the opportunity Habitat for Humanity is offering her by allowing her to become a first time home buyer, and giving her the ability to own a home in a safe neighborhood with adequate living space for her and her family.
This year the Ryder team is a mixture of both men and women from Ryder and other companies, coming together to give back to the community by donating their time and efforts to this amazing cause.
Last year, our team raised more than $20,000 and our goal this year is to raise a minimum of $30,000!
Giving back to the community is a fulfilling and rewarding experience and we encourage anyone looking to make an impact to join us for Women Build 2019! If you’re interested in participating, we request a minimum fundraising goal of $350 per person, however, we challenge you to raise at least $1,000 or more.
