I've been living in the Orlando area for 30 years and Central Florida is my home. There are lots of things to love about this community and being number one is usually a ranking in which to be proud. However, my community has been ranked number one for the lack of affordable housing. Being number one for lack of affordable housing means that for every 100 families looking for an affordable place to live, only 13 units are available. Many families are spending more than half their salaries to keep a roof over their children's heads and making hard decisions about things like medicine, school clothes, food, and medical treatment.
I want to make sure that no one in my community has to make hard choices like the ones mentioned. Everyone deserves a decent place to call home! Please join me in my effort to help Habitat for Humanity Women Build 2020 to build homes for my hard-working neighbors. Together we can make the American Dream of Homeownership a reality.
Women from all over Seminole County and Greater Apopka will come together to help build and raise money for a forever home. Please help me raise $1,000 to buy all the windows for o!ne home so the kids can look out at the bright sunshiney future!
