Registration Questions

How many players are allowed on a team?

Each team's table has a maximum of 10 seats

 

Is there a registration fee to play?

No. Instead of a team registration fee, each team commits to raising one of two fundraising goals:  Champion Team minimum fundraising goal of $1500 and Regular Team minimum fundraising goal of $600 (early bird $500). In order for a team to participate, they must raise their minimum by Monday November 14th at 5:00PM. Of course, since this is a fundraising event for kids involved with the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa, you are encouraged to raise more than the minimum requirement! 

 

When does registration close?

Registration closes on Monday, November 14th at 5:00PM

 

What is the difference between the team participation levels?

  • Champion Team
    • Requirements to Receive Team Benefits:
      • Raise $1,500
    • Team Benefits:
      • 6 team entries (minimum) into the Team Pledge Draws
      • For every additional $250 raised, 1 entry into the Team Pledge Draws
      • Eligible to win Top Trivia Team Prizes
      • Eligible to win Top Fundraising Team Prizes
      • VIP Seating
      • 2 complimentary pub food platters
      • 1 complimentary 'Brain Booster Break' protein snack
  • Regular Team
    • Requirements to Receive Team Benefits:
      • Raise $600 (Early Bird registration is $500.)
    • Team Benefits:
      • 2 team entries (minimum) into the Team Pledge Draws
      • For every additional $250 raised, 1 entry into the Team Pledge Draws
      • Eligible to win Top Fundraising Team Prizes
      • 1 complimentary 'Brain Booster Break' protein snack 
 
Will there be Food & Drinks?
Yes! What is trivia without pub food? Pre-order pub platters, drinks and more. Pub menu items must be ordered in advance, as they are not available for purchase during the event. You can purchase beverages and snacks during the event from the bar or snack cart. Check out this delicious menu, prepared just for you, by the chefs at the Shaw Centre.

Accessing the Event

How will my team answer the trivia questions?

Trivia answers will be submitted through Google Forms. Only one member from each team is required to submit their team's answers. We suggest you choose who will be responsible for this before the event begins.

 

Will the event be scored lived? Where can I find the results?

Yes, this event is scored live. You will be able to see your team’s trivia standing during the event. You can view the live scores on www.WorldTriviaNight.com starting at 7:00PM on November 18th.

Shaw Centre

Please note: The Shaw Centre is cashless!  Methods of payment are google pay, apple pay, tap and go, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Union Pay, JCB and Interac

No outside food our beverages permitted in the Shaw Centre.

 

Donations & Prizing

Where does the money raised at this event go?

Proceeds raised at World Trivia Night support the children and youth involved with The Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO). Click the About Us menu tab to learn more about how our organization, the Children’s Aid Foundation of Ottawa, supports the kids involved with CASO.

 

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes. All monetary donations are eligible for an official charitable tax receipt. You will receive your tax receipt by email once your donation has been processed.

 

How does my team become eligible to win Top Fundraising Team prizes?

All donations received by Friday, November 18th at 6:00pm will count towards crowning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Top Fundraising Teams. You can view the prizes for Top Fundraising Teams by clicking the Prizing menu tab above.

 

Who is eligible to win Top Trivia Team? What happens if there is a tie?

All registered Champion Teams are eligible to be crowned 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place Top Trivia Team. In the event of a tie for 1st place, there will be a tie breaking question.

 

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

No refunds will be provided, as this is a fundraising event for charity.
