I'm raising money for the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk!
This year marks my 14th Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk and I feel so lucky to be part of this incredible community. Even though my family and I are not personally affected by a bleeding disorder, I have the privilege of seeing every day how the work we do helps families. I am inspired by the passion of volunteers, the dedication of families, and the community that comes together to make a difference.
I’m especially proud of our growing Women’s Initiative and outreach. For far too long, women with bleeding disorders have been overlooked and underserved. On average, it takes 16 years from the onset of symptoms for a woman to receive a proper diagnosis. We are working to change that narrative by empowering women to find answers, community, and strength. Through our outreach we partner with school nurses, universities, and local foundations to provide education on bleeding disorders. We distribute period packs, magnets, and restroom clings highlighting bleeding disorder symptoms, as well as nosebleed kits, so that students can recognize signs early and seek care sooner.
Funds from the Walk also help families in many ways, including emergency medical assistance, grocery cards for families experiencing food insecurity, holiday gifts, and support for new families navigating a diagnosis. They also allow our fearless advocates to travel to Harrisburg and Washington to speak up for the needs of the bleeding disorders community, ensuring their voices are heard at every level.
I am deeply grateful for your support. Your generosity fuels our mission and reminds our community that they are seen, valued, and never alone. Together we walk to celebrate this community, raise awareness, and make a real difference for families living with bleeding disorders.
