I am participating in the Water Walk because I believe that together, we can make a difference.
I’ve been involved with Villages in Partnership since my senior year of high school, when I first joined as an intern. From the very beginning, I was exposed to the real and meaningful work they do. Through the photos, videos, and stories I’ve seen, I’ve been able to witness firsthand the impact VIP has on communities, and it’s something that has stayed with me ever since.
That same year, I started a Water Walk team and have been a team leader ever since. Last summer, I came back as an intern, and it only deepened my passion for this organization. Seeing the joy, strength, and resilience of the communities VIP works with made everything feel so much more real and personal.
This year, I’ve had the opportunity to serve on the Water Walk planning committee, which has been incredibly special to me. Being part of something bigger than myself and helping make a real difference is something I don’t take for granted.
I truly cannot wait to see the impact of what we raise this year, because VIP doesn’t just talk about change, they make it happen. Every dollar goes toward something real, something life-changing, and that’s why this means so much to me
Villages in Partnership (VIP) works in the rural villages of Malawi, Africa, partnering with 29 villages and impacting over 24,000 lives. Malawi is one of the poorest countries on earth, with 85% of the population living on less than $1 a day. Yet they have a rich culture and deep hospitality that have earned Malawi the nickname of "The Warm Heart of Africa."
I am inspired to come alongside the people of Malawi to provide them with the resources to move from scarcity to sustainability.
