On August 16th 2010, we lost our Mom, Madeline Schultz, to suicide. Our Mom was a beautiful, loving, outgoing, generous and humble woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. We will never fully understand the reason for her decision, but we are committed to honoring her through supporting the With Hope Foundation. Depression and mental illness is leading people of all ages down a path of self-destruction. We are all linked in some way to someone who has attempted or succeeded at taking their own life. The time has come for change. The With Hope Foundation is going into schools all over Orange County and educating kids, teens and young adults on this epidemic and providing them valuable resources and support to get the help they need or speak up when they see things in friends or classmates that are silently calling out for help. There isn't a week that goes by that I don't think back to August 16th 2010, wondering what I could have done to prevent this. A piece of my heart went up to heaven that day with my Mom.
