FAQs

What is Walk With Me?

Walk With Me is a Family Fun Walk presented by Prosperity Bank, that benefits Easter Seals Greater Houston, which provides services for people of all ages with all types of disabilities. Following the walk, there will be an after-party at the Masihara Pavilion inside the zoo with children's activities, music, food, drinks and more until 10:30 am. After the event, participants are welcome to stay and enjoy the zoo for the remainder of the day.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a $50 registraion fee for each walker age 10 years old and up. The $50 registration fee covers your ticket entrance to the zoo, refreshments and an event day t-shirt.  We ask that you continue to fundraise so that Easter Seals can raise funds for programs outside of event costs. Children under the age of 10 are free, but donations are appreciated.

Where do the funds go?

Your gift helps Easter Seals Greater Houston provide life-changing services, such as therapy, training, education and more, for thousands of children, adults and veterans with disabilities in the Greater Houston area each year. Easter Seals is one of the oldest and most efficient charities in Texas with $0.91 of every dollar going towards direct client services. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

How do I register?

Register online at www.walkwithmehouston.org. Please see the How to Register Guide for Walk With Me 2027. If you are a staff member of a corporate sponsor please see the How to Register Guide for Corporate Sponsors.

Can I sign up a team, as a team member, or as an individual?

Absolutely! You have the flexibility to register as an individual walker, create your own team, or join a team that's already set up.

Can I register multiple walkers?

Yes! The primary contact for your group should register themselves first. After you've completed your own information, you'll find a button that says "add a child or additional guests." This is where you can add other walkers.

While email addresses aren't required for additional walkers, they are preferred. This feature is especially useful for registering children who don't have their own email. If that's the case, simply select "I’ll manage their fundraising" to skip the email field during registration.

What if I register and can’t make it?

We'd certainly hate for you to miss out on the fun, but we understand things come up! If you're unable to attend, we truly appreciate your fundraising efforts on our behalf. Please note that money raised is non-transferable. If you raised $100 or more and qualified for a fundraising incentive, your prize will be mailed to you within 60 days after the walk.

Where is packet pickup?

To skip the registration line on the morning of the walk, we strongly encourage you to pick up your packet beforehand. Your packet will include your entry ticket, race number, and t-shirt. Remember to bring your entry ticket to the walk, as it's essential for admission!

Here are the packet pickup details:

Thursday, April 8th from 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM Location: TBD

Friday, April 9th from 7:00 AM - 11:30 AM Location: TBD

If you can't make it to pre-walk packet pickup, don't worry! You can still pick up your materials at the registration tables located just outside the main Houston Zoo entrance until 7:45 AM the morning of the event.

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes, someone can pick up your packet. However, you are responsible for getting your packet with the entry ticket from them before the walk, as this is your entry into the event. We will not be redistributing tickets that have already been picked up.

What happens after the race?

After the race there is a Post-Walk Party at the Masihara Pavilion inside the zoo until 10:30am. Food and drinks will be provided. Entertainment includes music, animal shows, face painting and other various activities. Participants are welcome to stay and visit the zoo exhibits free of charge following the Post Walk Party.

Do I have to wear my walk t-shirt?

Nope! While we love to see everyone sporting their event shirts, you are welcome to wear anything appropriate and comfortable for the walk.

Are strollers, wheelchairs, and pets allowed?

Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted on the walk. For the safety and comfort of all participants and animals, pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals. Please note that bicycles and tricycles are not allowed, but strollers and wagons are welcome.

What if it is raining?

Walk With Me takes place rain or shine! The event will only be canceled if the zoo determines it is unsafe to walk due to extreme weather conditions. Thank you for your donation regardless of the weather!

Where do I park?

Parking will be available free of charge in the Houston Zoo parking lot at 6200 Hermann Park Drive Houston, TX 77030.

Can I continue to raise money after the conclusion of the walk?
