Why I'm Walking

During a routine check-up in June 2014 something wasn't right with my blood. My wonderful internist had me come in for further tests. She suspected Polycythemia Vera which was confirmed after seeing a hematologist/oncologist in July of that year.  Polycythemia Vera (PV) is one of 3 rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN's) for which there is no cure. I am very fortunate that I am relatively symptom free.  Unfortunately that is not the case for many others who have this disease and may not always be the case for me.

There is an organization that advocates for patients like me called the MPN Research Organization. It would be wonderful to be able to support their efforts as they look for better treatments and cures for MPNs. I would be humbled and honored if you would make a donation and come Walk with Me on Sunday August 11th from 1-3 p.m. at the Hawken Upper School Track, 12465 County Line Road, Gates Mills, Ohio. We are walking 3 miles for the 3 rare blood cancers that fall under Myeloproliferative Neoplasms.

Come walk with me!  Or, if  you are out of town, walk somewhere for me, for a cure.
