Since coming to Denver, I have had the honor of meeting the Christ in the City Missionaries who dedicate their life to treating the homeless with the human dignity they deserve.  From my interactions with Christ in the City missionaries, the importance of safe shelters for the women on the streets has taken on a personal importance.  Catholic Charities has just purchased a building to start a new woman's shelter in Denver. Homeless women are at a much greater risk of being taken advantage of when living on the streets, so this housing is critical to providing them a safe place to shelter at night. I have met some of the women who would benefit from such a shelter and I am honored to be a part of it's foundation.  Please join me in this effort to provide much needed safety and shelter to the women of Denver.
