Give mercifully to help build a new women's shelter!
How will you end the jubilee year of mercy?
Here is an opportunity to do 3 merciful acts at once...
Feed the hungry
Shelter the homeless
Give alms to the poor
Catholic Charities is working to build a NEW homeless shelter for women in Denver. This is incredibly important, as the population of homeless women in our city has increased at a truly heartbreaking rate in the past few years. This shelter will be able to house up to 100 women per night at 6240 Smith Rd in Denver. It will feed the women, provide shelter, and have a 30-day nonmedical detox facility where women with addictions can safely recover. This is so necessary for our city. The sooner we can raise the money to make this happen, the sooner Samaritan House can begin to serve these women in need.
This opportunity to give allows us to live out the gospel of Matthew, chapter 25 verse 40: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me."
We can't think of a better way to close out this jubilee year... can you?
