I’m honored to serve on the Board of Directors for YW Boston, an organization committed to eliminating racism, empowering women, and advancing equity across our communities for 160 years.

As someone born, raised, and professionally rooted in Greater Boston, I’ve seen firsthand both the progress we’ve made and the growing resistance to that progress. Across the country, many of the programs, protections, and conversations designed to create greater opportunity and belonging are being challenged, defunded, or rolled back entirely. At the same time, the needs facing women, young people, and historically marginalized communities have not disappeared. If anything, they’ve become more urgent.

That’s why organizations like YW Boston matter now more than ever.

While many institutions are stepping back, YW Boston continues to step forward through leadership development, youth programming, community dialogue, organizational training, and advocacy that helps build a more equitable and connected Boston for all of us.

But sustaining this work requires collective support.
