We want to help the brave women & families living at YWCA Semlin Gardens by:

• Providing free access to healthy, fresh produce to help physical health and offer respite from high grocery prices.
• Fostering a sense of community and family connection through collaborative gardening efforts.
• Improving mental health through time spent outdoors in the sun and fresh air.

We want to combat environmental issues by:

• Avoiding plastic packaging on vegetables & fruits which is derived from burning fossil fuels, takes hundreds of years to decompose, and kills marine life.
• Avoiding vehicular transportation of vegetables & fruits that emits vast quantities of CO2 which contributes to the climate crisis.
• Avoiding pesticides & fertilizers whose toxic chemicals contaminate the ecosystem, emit powerful greenhouse gases, and cause severe biodiversity loss.
