On Sunday, November 15, 2015 our full term daughter Piper Jean Bradford was born still. 

I had the "perfect" pregancy until Friday, November 13th. I never experienced morning sickness, underwent genetic testing to rule out concerns, and had normal readings at each of my prenatal appointments. That November evening  I experienced frantic movement that I would later recognize as my daughter struggling for her life. At the time I naievly assumed she was getting in position for delivery. Nobody had ever warned me about too much movement being a sign of distress. 

For most of Saturday, November 14th I believed my daughter was resting from her active night before. I attended a good friend's baby shower and later went to dinner with friends. As the day wore on my concern grew and by the time we were on our way back home I decided we should stop by our local urgent care clinic just to be safe. Shortly after being seen by the physician we were told they couldn't find a heartbeat and to head immediatly to the hospital. By 10 p.m. that night our darkest fears were confirmed. 

Since Piper's passing, Rob and I have made the commitment to help other families in the aftermath of loss. We continue to support Angel Gowns by Diane and participate in Zayne's Anchor of Hope each year. What we love about Zayne's Anchor of Hope is its connection to the Star Legacy Foundation, dedicated to stillbirth education, research, and awareness.
