Camp is the gift that keeps on giving. Whenever I run into a camper in the community, it erases any stress or sadness that I had from earlier in the day. I am incredibly grateful to have first worked at camp in 2014 as a counselor, and as an Activity Director last year. I return again this summer in the same role- but with a bigger love and trust in the work we do and the magic that happens at camp within our staff, campers, and family members when they see their loved one at the end of the week having had new experiences and achievements. Camp has been a guiding light, encouraging me to find different ways to work with individuals within the autism spectrum -ASNC Autism Support Professional, Private Tutor, and even intertwined in my volunteering through Guardian ad Litem. Camp is also a bright light that leads me back to a place that feels like home.
