Zion Lutheran's K-8 students will be walking three miles on Monday, May 13th, to raise money for Zion Athletics and MIssion 22.
Zion's Athletic program gives students the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports while learning valuable lessons in Christian sportsmanship and teamwork. Due to inclement weather, Zion was unable to fully host its yearly basketball tournament, which is its biggest fundraiser. Your donation will go a long way to help hire officials, purchase equipment, and pay tournament fees.
However, keeping with Zion's tradition of giving, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to Mission 22, an organization that helps veterans who suffer from PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Named for the staggering rate of veteran suicides (approximately 22 per day), Mission 22 aims to bring that number down to zero. As we approach Memorial Day, please consider this opportunity to support veterans. Your donation will help fund treatment programs for veterans and bring awareness to this issue.
