Quin's Superstars

Quin Heidtke Team Page

A message from The Heidtke's:

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! We are so excited for this year's DSAW buddy walk! This will be our 10th year participating! Last year we had our biggest team yet, and hope to have an even bigger team walking this year! Quin and Mom got to be a part of DSAW's Sustain 21 video that was produced after the walk last year! Check it out (you can view it to the right). In the video, DSAW talks about the different ways they help families accross the state with the proceeds they receive from the walks & other various charity events & donations. We were honored to be asked to be part of it! Please feel free to sign up for this year's walk and join our team, Quin's Superstars! We would love to see you come out for such a fun and great day at the zoo!

About Quin's Year:

Quin had such a fun year from doing the Ice Bucket Challenge with Bri (his therapist) last August, to dressing up like a very short, wide & wobbly clown for Halloween! He also got to sit in a real military humvee at Mom's work (Dental Professionals) last fall, for their Candy Buy Back event! He went roller skating with his big sister, Kaylee and his therapists! Quin turned 10 this year in May and had such a fun surprise guest, Wyatt, who played his guitar, ukulele and sang songs just for Quin! He played baseball again this year for the Germantown Super Stars (Challenger Division) and Dad was the coach again! It was such a fun season this year! He even batted and ran the bases this year by himself with no "buddies" along side him! This was a huge accomplishment! Way to go Quin! His highlight of the summer was going to the Washington County Fair to see his favorite performer, Max Templin, live on stage! He even got to have his picture taken with him (Quin is his #1 fan!)! We all were sad to see Chloe go in July (one of Quin's Daily Living Skills Therapists). He spent the rest of the summer on many adventures with Bri, his other therapist! They had a blast going to the park, riding his bike, going bowling and to the fair & swimming in the pool! We spent the last day of summer break with Bri and went to Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan. It was so much fun! He started school on September 1st and is now in the 4th grade! He was so excited to see his friends again!

Whether it's a friend, a family member, or neighbor down the street, we almost all know someone with Down syndrome. Like us, many of you have been personally touched by the lives of these individuals. We are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 19th Annual Awareness Walk and 5K Run, Roll and Stroll because it means so much to us and to our family.

People with Down syndrome are more LIKE the rest of us than they are different. They have feelings, talents and dreams just like everyone. They deserve to be accepted and appreciated for who they are and what they contribute to our lives and our communities.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. You can make your tax-deductible donation online, or if you would prefer, you can send your contribution to the DSAW Office, 3211 Lake Drive, Suite 113, Saint Francis, WI 53235. (Just be sure to write our team name on the memo line so that we get credit for the donation!) Whatever you can give will help ~ it all adds up! To sponsor us simply press Donate Now.

Please also join us on Sunday, September 27th, at the Milwaukee County Zoo and Run, Walk, Roll or Stroll with us as part of our team. It's an incredible day of celebration with family, friends, and people who, like you, want to raise awareness, raise funds, and raise the hope of a better world for all people with Down syndrome. With your support and involvement, our goals of acceptance, inclusion and empowerment will become a reality!

Many thanks for your support ~ and PLEASE don't forget to forward this to your entire address book and anyone else who you think might want to donate and register to walk as part of our Team.
