Hello, thank you for visiting the fundraising page for Team Yee Leng! We are walking in Milwaukee to bring awareness about Down Syndrome and raise $1,000 for the Down Syndrome Association of WI on behalf of our brother Yee Leng.
ABOUT YEE LENG: Yee Leng is the 8th child in our family and his name translates to "8 total, 8th one" in Hmong. Yee Leng has Down Syndrome and is on the autism spectrum. He's 15 years old and enjoys playing games on his tablet, watching Sesame Street and Blippi, road trips, and taking evening walks with our dad. Yee Leng is an uncle to 16 nieces and nephews and loves giving everyone fist bumps, hugs, and kisses.
OUR WHY: Our brother is nonverbal and requires additional support from educational assistants at school, along with supplemental therapy. Yee Leng participates in local summer programs through the school district and Aptiv Inc. Yee Leng and my family get connected to a variety of resources and programs through the La Crosse County. We are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 30th Annual Statewide Down Syndrome Awareness Walk because it directly impacts our brother's development and his access to the world.
