9:00      Check in and Visit Vendors who are sharing resources.

10:00    Welcome Holly Seymour

10:15    Currently Recruiting- Ongoing Clinical Trials offered here in Connecticut. Featuring a Research Panel Moderated by Dr. Bernardo Rodrigues (invited researchers to panel include: Yale, UCONN, HHC? and other CT area research institutes such as IND)

11:15    Movement Break-

11:30    The Gut-Brain Connection in PD – Mary Alice Allnutt of Yale School of Medicine.
Learn about the connections between gastrointestinal clinical symptoms in PD patients, gut microbiome changes, and risk factors driving disease progression. This is a rapidly developing area of research with the potential to reveal new mechanisms driving disease, identify biomarkers for early diagnosis, and potentially identify therapeutic targets.

1:00      All about Advocacy and How you can be involved - Anne Hubbard, APDA Chief Public Policy Officer

1:30      Dr. Duarte Machado- Priorities in Parkinson’s Disease Treatments: Immune Therapies, Vaccines & Stem Cells and more 

2:15      5 min Stretch break

2:20      Care Partner Panel “We’re all in this together” Caring for yourself and caring for others. We will bring together care givers to discuss helpful tips for managing well, tactics to reduce burnout, self-care and when it may be time to explore additional resources.

3:00      Closing Remarks- Kevin Cassesse

A light healthy lunch will be served
