We’ve got some incredible news. Emmy-nominated ESPN analyst Mina Kimes—who has seen SELAH’s work up close—has won $1 million for SELAH on Celebrity Jeopardy! We’re profoundly grateful to her for choosing us and for believing in the power of neighbors showing up for each other.

These funds don't just keep our programs active, they help fuel a movement built on connection and humanity at a time when many of our neighbors are losing access to basics like food benefits, healthcare and housing support. 

Help us Double It!

Right now, your contribution can be matched with Mina’s gift, turning $1M into even more support for our neighbors. As public resources like CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and housing vouchers face uncertainty, your gift provides a critical foundation of stability. 

• $25 becomes $50 - Provide essential hygiene supplies for neighbors that support health, wellness, and dignity

• $100 becomes $200 - Help 4 neighbors get their birth certificates and get IDs so they are eligible for shelter and housing.

• $250 becomes $500 - Mina's win let us buy a new van after our old one died! As our only vehicle, the van provides neighbors rides to and from our weekly programs, hauls all our supplies between sites, and allows us to pick up in-kind donations from around L.A. Support 1 month of van maintenance with $500!

• $1,000 becomes $2,000 - 1 whole month of meal support! We partner with local orgs to supply nutritious meals, but we still need to provide plates and supplement dishes to serve over 17,000 meals a year!

We’re not a bandaid—we’re a community-led response to homelessness that over the last nine years has become vital infrastructure within the community. While this gift is momentous for SELAH and a catalyst, it won’t replace the fundamental need for your support.
