Walk for Water West Michigan - May 17 12:30-3:00

Registration ends Sunday, 05/17/2026 3:00pm EDT

What's Happening

According to recent research, around 2 billion people in our world still lack access to to safely managed drinking water systems. 771 million don't have basic drinking water services meaning "an improved source within a 30 minute walking distance from home."

This is not okay.

Some estimates suggest that around the world, women and girls walk collectively 250 million hours each day to fetch water. If this isn't troubling enough, much of that water is unimproved and unprotected meaning there is a high likelyhood it will make them and their families sick. Some say you can't understand what others go through until you walk a mile in their shoes...

We walk because they walk.

Join 20 Liters on May 17 at Johnson Park for Walk for Water West Michigan. Together we will learn more about the challenge of dirty water, walk with our friends and families, and learn simple, effective, and long lasting ways to make dirty water clean. The event runs from 12:30-3:00 (meet at picnic areas around the first parking lot), and you can arrive at any time to walk and learn.

We will have food and activities for all ages to make the event fun and memorable. Although not required, everyone who registers above will receive a free t-shirt for participating.

Not able to attend on May 17? You can still support our work by clicking the Donate button on this page. $10 gets one person clean water for 10+ years.

"Tanks" for your support!

In February, 20 Liters sent a shipping container full of filters to Rwanda. But many of these systems (SAM2 & Rain Water Harvest) require water tanks to be purchased in country. This year our goal is to raise $22,000 at our Walk for Water to buy those 15 Rain Water Harvest tanks and 19 SAM2 tanks. We so appreciate your support and can't "tank" you enough!

Help us reach our goal of $22,000 for clean water!
