I am taking the 100 Wave Challenge for Boys to Men Mentoring in order to support their efforts to bring positive male mentorship to hundreds of young men in San Diego County.
Boys to Men Mentoring is a nonprofit organization facilitating consistent group mentoring for the fatherless, at-risk, and disconnected teenage boys of San Diego County. Through strategic partnerships with local middle schools, high schools, and community partner locations, Boys to Men connects teenage boys with compassionate mentors who provide the encouragement, empowerment, and accountability they need to thrive.
Maybe you know this, but I am going to start my 9th year of volunteer work at Boys to Men Mentoring Network (a 501c3 Non-Profit Corp.), to help inner-city boys without proper father figures become productive and well-rounded young men. I counsel and mentor mostly minority boys who attend Middle and High School. After just one year of weekly meetings, BTM boys get an average of 27% better grades and 85% fewer disciplinary issues.
There is nothing more powerful than surrounding a young man with a community of support and giving him the opportunity to reach his fullest potential. I hope to do that this year by attempting to catch 100 waves in one day to raise money and awareness for Boys to Men.
Please consider making a donation to my page and help me support these young men who are working to be the best they can be!
