This October, Alana, her mom, and I will each be taking on the challenge of running 100 km in memory of Scott and in support of epilepsy research. I never had the chance to meet Scott, but through Alana, her family, and the stories they continue to share about him, I’ve come to understand just how loved he was and how important he continues to be to their family. This year marks the 8th year of fundraising in Scott’s memory. Since his passing, more than $23,000 has been raised for epilepsy research, and I’m proud to be part of continuing that tradition through the 1 in 100 challenge. Running 100 km this October alongside Alana and her mom is my way of supporting them, honouring Scott’s memory, and helping raise awareness and funds for epilepsy research.
