Epilepsy is still a mystery condition for medical practitioners and community. We know more but not enough. During the first 5 years of my son Rowan’s life, he has had two significant seizures resulting in low oxygen and lifeflights. We never really know if it will happen again, and when. Medications help prevent seizures and medications help stop seizures, but no procedure or medication cures epilepsy. Living in fear and uncertainty. Will we, as parents and family and friends, be there when/if another seizure hits? Will the community be knowledgeable enough to be there to help Rowan? Rowan may never have another seizure or may have several. Rowan may have seizures requiring urgent medical care to ensure oxygen levels get back to healthy levels quickly..
