We are running the MCM Marathon 10k together and have decided to run in honor of American Hostages and Wrongful Detainees. Inspired by our friend Neda Sharghi, whose brother Emad, an innocent American citizen, was just released from Iran after 5 1/2 years of wrongful detention, we will run to raise money for organizations that advocate for American hostages and wrongful detainees.. Though Emad is now home due to the courageous efforts of President Biden and his administration, there are still 55 Americans currently being wrongfully detained. These individuals, like Emad, are ordinary Americans taken as political pawns because of being American. Both the James W Foley Legacy Foundation and the Bring Our Families Home Campaign advocate hard for our Americans to be freed and brought back home, to be reunited with their families.
