Why We Walk
In April of 2018 at 34 weeks pregnant I went to MAU with swelling, high blood pressure, headache, dizziness and nausea. I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and was told I would need to deliver early. I was given betamethasone injections to help with the babies lungs and also put on blood pressure meds which helped with my blood pressure to a certain extent. I went to the doctor 2-3 times a week to be checked and for stress test. At 36 weeks pregnant I was admitted to the hospital to be monitored for HELLP Syndrome but the next day discharged. On May 7th, 2018 and 37 weeks pregnant I was induced. I delivered a small but healthy 6lb baby boy.
During my second pregnancy I was monitored again closely. I took a baby aspirin daily and had no problems with my blood pressure until April 2022. I went to the doctor for my 38 week check up and my blood pressure was elevated. I was told to come back a few days later for another blood pressure check. When I got there my blood pressure was elevated so I was sent to L&D to be induced. I delivered another healthy baby boy on April 29th, 2022. My blood pressure went back down and I was sent home 2 days later from the hospital. After being home for a day I started getting dizzy, having headaches, swelling and was short of breathe. I went back to the doctor for a blood pressure check and lab work. I was then diagnosed with preeclampsia. I was told to rest and put on blood pressure medication. After 2 weeks I was able to discontinue my medicine.
