Dravet Syndrome Foundation is an organization that provides family support and much needed funds for research.
As many of you know, Kate suffers from this disorder. Dravet Syndrome is a rare and severe form of intractable Epilepsy. It also comes with developmental disabilities along with behavior and sleep issues.
Rare - Kate is 1 in 15,000
Severe - Kate has 5 different seizure types. She also has had seizures that lasted up to 70 minutes
Intractable - Kate is on several different seizure medications because Dravet Syndrome is extremely hard to control and many of the available medications do not work
