As survivors of preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome, our family became passionate about driving change for maternal health. We continue to use our voices to raise awareness and help fund research that focuses on early detection and discovering ways to reduce maternal complications in pregnancy and in the post partum period.
We want to be able to test our daughter to see if she has a higher chance of getting preeclampsia because of family history. We want to have this information early instead of constantly hearing "well, we'll find out when she goes through her own pregnancy." This is not acceptable. We want to see a future where new mommas and babies of all colors do not have to die or get very sick becuase of a maternal health crisis. Our greatest hope and wish is to one day find a cure.
We are blessed that we are able to pay it forward and support this very important cause. For Senna and for all future mommas and their babies.
