Thanks to your support, in the past 12 months, the CJD Foundation has:
- Presented over 40 support group sessions
- Coordinated hundreds of contacts with Capitol Hill offices to convey support for prion disease surveillance and research
- Communicated with multiple biotech companies to educate them about unmet needs of prion disease patients and families and connect them with the voice of the patient
- Arranged medical education including grand rounds lectures, infection control sessions, and funeral education in over a dozen locations
- Answered more than 1,000 calls and messages through our Helpline
- Awarded more than $800,000 in research grants to 9 scientists (and a total of $6 million in the lifetime of the program)

- Attract research grant applications from scientists across the U.S. and around the world, who know that the CJD Foundation will reliably continue funding prion disease science
- Keep CJD families’ issues on the minds of policymakers, and raise awareness of the brutal impact of CJD on patients and caregivers and the need to continue funding surveillance and research
- Bring vital information about CJD diagnostics, programs, and caregiving to physicians and other medical professionals
- Answer the call for information, referrals, and support when a family receives a CJD diagnosis
- Offer monthly support groups and other programs for families affected by prion disease
