This year, I’m proud to be part of Team CCC, running in the IMT Des Moines Half Marathon to support Children’s Cancer Connection — an organization that has had a lifelong impact on me and my family.
When my younger brother was diagnosed with cancer, CCC was there. They offered us not just support, but connection — and that made all the difference. Thanks to CCC, I had the chance to attend Camp Heart Connection every summer from ages 6 to 18, surrounded by other kids who got it. Later, I even returned as a volunteer, giving back to a place that gave me so much.
CCC provides camps, support programs, outings, and hospital-based services for families affected by childhood cancer across Iowa — completely free of charge, thanks to donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Now it’s my turn to give back. My goal is to raise $500 to help ensure other families get the same support, joy, and sense of belonging that mine did.
Please consider making a donation to support these amazing families. Every step I run is for them — and every dollar makes a difference.
Thank you for supporting Team CCC and families like mine.
