Support me as I challenge myself to raise awareness and educate teens about depression.Running is a passion that I've had for many years. Not only has it help me physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Some support it, and some think I am out of my mind for doing it. Not so much for running (well maybe it is), but for everything that requires to prepare for such races. However, as much as there are times that I tell myself "What were you thinking when you signed up for this?", the enjoyment and satisfaction I get when crossing that finish line is indescribable. And so, this year I began a journey of healing. We all go through so many hardships in life, and are always afraid of speaking about them, as we get so caught up on what other people may think of us. In addition, you have to stay strong for those who need you. With that in mind, I decided to run the Marathon in Paris in 2025 and support the below Charity, as this is close to home and my heart. No one should ever have to feel alone or hopeless. I am one that believes that you do not have to be okay all the time, and that it's okay to not be okay (although at times we may not see it that way). So next April, I am taking one step at a time to complete 26.2 miles or 42.195 Kilometers if you prefer. Any help that you can provide in supporting me in this journey and amazing cause will go a long way.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart ?
Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
