This year, I am dedicating my Walk for Paws page to my first love, Ribeye. Ribeye had first come into the shelter as a stray in July 2023 - which is right around the time that I had started working with the organization. After bringing him into a few adoption meets with potential adopters, and seeing the love that he showered people with automatically, I fell in love! We started going on adventures together to different community events and on hikes, and I would spend, at least, the first 10 minutes of my morning in his kennel hanging out with him. 

After a few months without getting adopted in West Chester, in order to get seen by a different audience, Ribeye went down to our Delaware campuses. No surprise here, but wherever he went, I still visited! Every single time that I saw him in Delaware, it was like no time had passed and we were right back in his kennel in West Chester. He was truly the sweetest and most handsome dog I've ever seen who made me fall in love with my career and animal welfare.
