Each year The ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation holds a special walk in Richmond, Va to raise money & increase awareness. What is incredibly special is that ASK kids and their families also join in.... you'll see bubble machines secured to strollers, crazy outfits, dedicated runners, walkers of all ages, and lots of encouragement along the way during the route.  
 

ASK is personally special as the organization provided intensive support and guidance to my family during Melissa Ellen Robertson's cancer journey in the late 1990s & early 2000s.  There were volunteers handing out snacks during long days in the chemo/transfusion clinic; family events to Maymont and the Diamond; child life support that assisted in navigating hospital boredom; help figuring out schooling admits treatment; and a team of informed cheerleaders helping my parents when times were tough or good.  ASK means so much to my family that each year at ASK graduation event, for childhood cancer survivors, a high school graduating student that is interested in nursing is awarded the Melissa Robertson Scholarship.
 I would like to invite you to join my team during the annual ASK walk or donate monetarily to support the immense work that ASK does for children all over Virginia.
