10 years ago my dad, Stewart, was diagnosesd with scleroderma, 2 short years later after multiple doctor visits, plane rides, therapies, medications, and trials, my dad passed away from this terrible disease, but not without a long, hard fight. There is not a day that goes by we don't wish he was still here with us. Scleroderma took from us what we can never replace and it is my goal to help find a cure so no one else has to go through what my dad and family did. 

I have to say, it wasn't until 10 years ago, that I myself was ignorant to scleroderma. Unfortunately, it now holds a hard place in my heart. I can't help but feel he should be here for all of our family parties, birthdays, Sunday brunches, soccer games, dance recitals, and simply just every day life. 

So, Stewie boy, we are walking for you. We walk in your honor. We walk to find a cure to this terrible disease in hopes that no one ever has to go through what you did. You fought like hell and never gave up. You are a true inspiration to all. You left this world a better place and left a mark that cannot be taken away. Your legacy lives on. We forever will cherish our beautiful memories we have with you. We walk in your memory, to the incredible man you were.

We're fundraising becasue we want a future free from scleroderma. The money we raise supports the Scleroderma Foundation of Greater Chicago and thier work to build community and empowerment for everyone living with scleroderma whilre driving research into scleroderma's cause and cure.
