As many of you may know, I have been involved as a Board Member of Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland for many years. From 2021-2023, I had the honor of serving as Chairperson.

Our team of employees, "The Brean Gutter Guardians" along with representatives from dozens of other companies, are participating in the annual Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland Bowl-A-Thon! Throughout the years, we have enjoyed an afternoon filled with food, fun, and bowling for this wonderful cause.

My personal experience with Junior Achievement has been both enriching and enlightening. Over the years, I have had the honor of teaching the JA Career Success program to high school students, participating in the JA Inspire Field Day and Career Fair, and facilitating a presentation on entrepreneurship (JA Launch), which exposes students to highly accomplished local entrepreneurs. I have also been a classroom volunteer on many occasions for 3rd and 7th graders and a few of my colleagues have joined me in the classroom from time to time. It's always nice to see the students so engaged, inquisitive, and sometimes surprised at how much they learn and enjoy a particular activity or program.

The most exciting development at Junior Achievement this past year has been the opening of the Experiential Learning Center in downtown Cleveland. In this hands-on field trip space, students can participate in programs such as JA Finance Park, where they can learn about budgeting, saving and investing with the help of local business community volunteers. They can also get exposure to a variety of types of employers as they think ahead to career possibilities.
